does the kit allow you to do this or do you need EMS or SAFC? (or is it VAFC?)
You would need an EMS, VAFC, eManage, or some other type of piggyback or ECU replacement.

I don't know why everyone compares a turbo psi vs a s/c psi. They are entirely irrelevant unless both compressors are moving the same amount of air. It's like comparing 7 psi from a 15g turbo vs 7psi from a T4 turbo. You can't. People seem to judge how safe a car will run on FI based off of how much psi the kit is running. I've seen people blow motors on 5 psi from a t3/T4 turbo which is comparable to 12psi from a 15g turbo(stock eclipse turbo).

I was initially disappointed after installing my comptech s/c w/out aftercooler on my s2k. The used kit that I purchased came with the 7lb pulley. Just as everyone is saying - it really was so linear that the power wasn't really felt. I just finished installing my emanage and using a PLX 300 WBO2 to tune the car. I was initially running around 13.5:1 A/F with the stock comptech kit. I just lowered the A/F around 12.5 - 12.9 and lowered my vtec to 5000. All I can say is wow! I couldn't even watch my A/F because I had to shift so fast. My midrange improved dramatically and it just pulls so much harder now. I have a dyno appoinment next week and see what kind of numbers I'm putting down.

Just get it tuned - I'm pretty sure you'll be happy afterwards. I use to own a turbocharged civic w/ a engine swap and I kind of expected to be pulled into my seats after installing the comptech kit. Now I'm completley happy now because my power is so linear that it fels like a N/A car on steroids - I think that is the best way to sum it up.

Sorry for the long post.

Ray

I'm very impressed with the dyno plots from the 04. They actually show usable power(boost) down low! Enjoy the boost!

15g turbo(stock eclipse turbo).
Not that it really matters, but I figure it best not to have false info flying around the board. No DSM (Talon, Eclipse, Laser) ever came with a 15G turbo. All 95-99's came with a Garrett T25 turbo, the MT 90-94's came with a 14B, and the 90-94 AT's came with a 13G. The 14B was the largest of the 3 factory turbos.

That is a good point Tim. I am guessing that the my04 will start to gain boost earlier in the revs and reach the same max boost a the lower 8200 cutoff. My 04 car is NA, but it is much more fun to drive out of vtec than the 02 I used to have. It would be great to see some results with the 04's running the high boost comptech pulleys.

I was about to say just that! I actually had 96 eclipse with a 15G aftermarket turbo and that thing flew like a motherf'er until I blew the engine after 70K HARD miles after turbo installation (120K all together)
