Default Rick's oem installation part kit

I decided to purchase the Rick's 4.77 polydyn treated gears for $400. now problem is do I really need to purchase the oem installation part kit in order to install the gears? Can it be installed without the oem installation part kit and just use what's on the car now?

The OEM parts kit is a good bargain. It contains almost all the parts that should be changed when you do this job. The bearings will most likely be damaged in the dismantling.

Depending on your mileage, you should also consider getting the side bearings and oil seals.

well it's an 2001 model and I only have about 31,000 kms or 18,600 miles.........I drive the car like aprox. 11,000 kms or 6,600 miles a year. I should be ok with the side bearings and oil seal....either ways I'm sure the mechanic will notice if anything needs attentions during the installation. Thanks for the heads up though

In that case, you may still want to replace the side oil seals due to age. They are cheap.
