After getting the code I tried running the engine with the MAP plugged and unplugged. It acted the same either way which is leading me to think the MAP isn’t doing its job

The MAP could tube be clogged up with carbon.

However, a clogged (or unplugged) MAP would send a low vacuum signal and be totally fine at WOT. So...still a strange issue to have.

what would cause the high signal to the map?

When I started the car (the drive before it died) I had some off throttle backfires at low rpm, like 2k.

If the wire connection is loose and/or if the port is clogged.

The wire thing is a common S2000 issue. But the losing power at WOT thing is not a typical symptom.

The MAP could be failing, but that's unusual

the connection at the sensor it tight/solid. Are you saying continuity through the circuit could be bad?

I’ll see if I can find a wiring diagram

FWIW my MAP sensor fully died, even got a code for it. Car would immediately stall, if I tried to rev it to keep it alive it wouldn't rev past 3k rpm full on limp mode.

I tried everything(to clean it), but a new Honda sensor fixed it. Guess its that time. Mine is a 02 with 250k on the chassis.

I’ve got a new MAP on order. If that solves it, I’ll be elated! Should be here next week

This is the longest I’ve been without my car since I bought it. Part should be here on Monday.

if I can’t get it running right, I’ll have to postpone my track night at Sebring.

I'm having the same issue with my s but my car when i go to start it after letting it sit in the morning kind of starts quickly but once i get off work like 5 pm and the temp is 80-90 degrees car cranks but doesn't start kind of like a fueling issue but i have already replaced fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator / even replaced the iacv still no fix but i did to a valve adjustment prior to these replacement a long time ago car ran great before doing the adjustment also fuel pump made it run better for awhile but it is a 340 fuel pump idk what it was before i also have a stutter or backfire at 3-4k rpm car struggles to stay running when i come to a complete stop and clucth in to 1st gear im moving and fuel cuts out car starts to bog i clutch back in to keep it from stalling. then i just add more fuel to keep the car moving kinda scary when i need to going into an intersection and cars are coming opposite direction.
