Royal Purple Synchromax Synthetic Tranny Oil
Just replaced the tranny oil in my '07 with this oil. Really like the positive feel. Anyone else use this tranny fluid? What is the length of time between changes?

Anyone try Royal Purple Max 75W-90 in the rear end (the car's rear end. LOL!!!)

Thanks!

Much thanks! Gonna do this, once I get a 23mm boxed spanner wrench. The RP Synchromax seems to give the tranny a much more positive engagement feel. Finding gears while downshifting is easier. Bet their diff gear lubricant is good, too. Does RP have as good life expectancy, as say Mobil One 75W-90 gear oil?
Thanks, again!

Windhund116 - are you still using the royal purple synchromax in your transmission? Happy?

Yes. Synchomax. I still like the positive feel of the syncho's engaging gears. Going into reverse in very smooth --- with this fluid and my 2007 S2K.
Went to Mobil 1, in the diff (75W-140), two years ago. In terms of sediments on the magnetic plug... about the same between the Royal Purple and Mobil One.

I switched the tranny from Honda to Amsoil. I have been pretty happy with it especially when it warms up. Just because I like to, I change the diff and the tranny every spring. I use Mobil 1 75w-90 at first because it met all the specs and then because of Billman's comments.

I'll try the RP in the gearbox next time. I have Amsoil in it now - so next season I'll give RP a try.

I'm running Royal Purple Syncromax in the gearbox this season. The tall, thin bottle shape makes it difficult for my lil' hand pump to get it in. Box shifts fine as it did with Honda MTF. I have no idea what the original owner had in the gearbox and I suspect it was never changed during the 35,000 miles he owned the car. I put Honda MTF in it within months of acquiring the car and the car seemed to shift smoother but that was four years ago.
Old formula LE1605 gear oil (GL5 spec) has been in the differential the past four years (changed every two years) but will come out on schedule next month. (New forumula LE1605 is no longer GL5).
