Default Rpm not working

Hey how's it going, I have an 06 s2000 and my Rpms are not working. The only time they work is when I turn on the car and the whole cluster turns on. But other than that they don't work . I tried checking for loose or ripped wires in the firewall on the computer plugs, cluster and everything seems fine. Everything else on the cluster work. If u can help me out I would appreciate it. TIA

Thanks for the reply. I bought the car like this. It was crashed on the passenger side. I checked all the wiring and the harness and everything is good. It also had all the light on the dash. (Abs, powersteering, airbags, and vsa). Found that it was missing the srs clockspring, bought it and put it on. The abs and vsa went off. The other ones are still on. The airbag the code said it's something in the passenger side module. The powersteering I think it the eps since I took it off and the harness on the actual module is broken. But I can't seem to find the problem with the rpm. I connect the wireless odb2 scanner and on my phone it actually shows the rpms working. I thought that probably the actual rpm part on the cluster is messed up but idk shouldn't it not work at all even when u turn the car on? TIA

Got access to the Service Manual? Page 22-91 of the 2000-2007 manual describes Tachometer Circuit troubleshooting. Requires removing the gauge assembly. I'm not sure what functions as the sender for this gauge.

There is one connection that controls the rpm I think .. I remember while installing the qube kit one wire was not connected right and the tach Dident work .. Maybe try new cluster first to rule that out ... Or contact qube as he knows the cluster like the back of his hand ..
