Default Rubbery part underneath?

Hey, so I was riding in the locals and I hear this noise underneath/slightly-behind me . This wasn't one of those sounds you sometimes hear on the freeway when rocks rattle underneath you; it was the sound of a slightly hard rubber part bouncing around underneath the car . Then I check back to see if anything seem to come out from underneath and saw a black square/rectangular(?) piece bouncing behind me as I continue moving forward.

Thus I was wondering if there are any hard rubber parts (hard enough to not bounce too high... but rubbery enough to bounce a tad) about...3x3 inches in dimension underneath our S's. So if there are, please let me know how crucial those parts are

It could have been just a random rubber piece on the road that I ran over making it bounce up and down underneath the car... and I hope this was the case

Haha, maybe I should have pulled over and went to grab the piece. Then again, it is a busy street too.. *sigh*

Anyway, let me know your opinions and insight

Darn, i guess no body has any idea on what i'm talking about... haha
Guess, we'll just have to see by the trial and error method!

I'm still hoping to see anyone's opinions/insight/knowledge into this lol

Might have been the spring blocks that are used in transporting the car when new. These are supposed to be removed by the dealer before turning the car over to the new owner. You need to look at each spring to make sure you don't have three more. If you do remove and discard. Is your car new?

not like the motor/tranny mount piece by chance??????? The one down the center I mean.... 3"x3" sounds about right.

Exhaust hanger.... but that wouldn't be a rectangle I think it'd be a triangle.

you should have gone back and checked to see what it was. But most likely you just ran over something.

@Jack
My car is used 25k mileage, so that issue is disregarded

@05TurboS2k
oh dang.. what if it was the motor/tranny mount? what problems do you think i'll start feeling/noticing? (i haven't driven the car yet for other reasons)

@Grand
yea that's the regret I have as of now... but the traffic load is heavy on that road, and I didn't want to be in the way of it

It wouldn't be a mount but it could be something added by a previous owner to maybe isolate the muffler system from the underbody. If so, it probably wasn't rubber. More likely something left in the engine bay that fell through to the street. If everything looks normal under the hood and the car runs without problems, I think you can forget about it.
