running hard
i know this might be a stupid question, but is it bad to run our cars hard all the time. me personally i like to push it like i was in an indy race. if there is an open road the pedal hits the floor. just wondering if that could do damage over time. especially getting the rpms extremely close to redline.

redlining is fine as long as the car is maintained properly. if you have an ap1, dont run it hard until you have 3 bars on the temp gauge. if you try to vtec before that, you'll hit the cold rev limiter at about 7k rpm. just keep an eye on the oil, and change it frequently. the differential is known to be weak, so avoid driveline shock/clutch dumps. if you do have the itch to spin the tires, give it enough gas to actually spin and not bounce.
just take it easy out there and be careful. we dont need anybody gettin hurt.

you gotta remember that these motors arent bullet proof. no matter how much preventive measures you take with the car, being maintenance or whathaveyou. things will start to break if you do it constantly...
dont expect your motor to last forever driving to redline everyday...

im trying not to, but seriously, its hard not too, i know honda is the cutting edge on engine tech. but can it stand up to the drive. i hope it can, they have never let me down before

Even if the engine could handle the redlines doing this constantly could lead to other issues such as premature clutch wear, diff shock, or worst of all mis-shifts. A mis-shift at redline is almost an immediate death sentence.
