You should flush your system and put in 50/50 coolants. More water in the system is what cause the rust.

Yeah looks like you are running it with too much water mixed or no coolant at all. I wouldnt worry about replacing it because of that, id worry about everywhere else the coolant runs through looking the same (engine). Definitively flush it out asap. Seen a lot of probablems occur with just running water.. I have no idea why anyone would do that.

your heater does not work because there is air in the heater core, it heats when the hot antifreeze is flowing through it. Youll need to be sure the system is 100% bled out. How old is the antifreeze in the car, the rusty color may be due to age, I have seen antifreeze that was never changed in a 10 year old car do that

sand down and clean the rust off the IAC and re-use the part.

You could have an air pocket in the cooling system, but if your anti-freeze is in really poor condition you could have a clogged heater core too - scale. Stick with Honda coolant it works really well even when left in the system too long.

Anyone try the "waterless" coolant, I believe it made by Evans? It's advertized as "lifetime" coolant & claims to run cooler due to the lack of water )lower boil point). Not cheap @ $35 per gallon but makes sense since you never have to replace coolant - ever.
