I have the UR kit and it came with a HKS wastegate. I think this is rust. HKS makes some crappy stuff.

If you can replace it with a Tial you won't have any problems.

Love the Tial wastegate and blow-off valve. Great products.

It's a nice wooshing noise. Sort of "psstttssss". Not a squeak at all. I like the noise, but I like the product b/c it works, seemingly flawlessly.

I've got an HKS WG too (not on an S2000) and it rusts in the same way. The fact that it rusts doesn't make it worse in functionality, its actually better than the Tial.

Just got some of the spray on stuff that converts rusts into primer. Is spraying stuff on a wastegate flange safe?

Drewspeed: Others told me that rust is normal and won't disable the functionality of the wastegate. But I still think with the price I paid for the part, it shouldn't rust at all. And my wastegate is just about a month old. I also heard that TEIN suspension (coilovers) rust on the top adjusters. Why? I don't get it.

Actually you're wrong. I doubt if you can find any knowledgable person to agree that the HKS is BETTER than the Tial... it just isn't so.

The rust won't acutually "do" anything except just...rust rite? as in it won't decrease functionality or performance?
