Default Rust proofing

Hi,

I was wondering, do you guys rust proof your car even if it's a garage queen and if it doesn't go out during winter?

Did anybody had any issue with some rust on the body?

The only thread I seem to find on rustproof date from 2002 and I would like to know, after all these years, should I be concern about rustproofing my car or not.

Thanks,

My S is driven year 'round, as long as I can get it out of the driveway. Despite the fact that they use a lot of salt on the roads around here, it has never had anti-rust treatments in its 9 years of service and still looks quite good. That said, this month I noticed a very tiny rust bubble on the lip of the right rear fender well, right next to where it meets the plastic lower rear fender and just under the protective strip. IMHO, this type of rust breakthrough would not have been prevented by rust treatment. FWIW, it's scheduled to be repaired in a week.

no problems with rust on my 2000 s and same as testut driven year round that keep your car clean dont park it on grass for long periods of time and if any chips occor in paint fix it other that and still looks like it fresh off show room floor just give it love is all lol

Rust proofing is unnecessary, just a dealer add on like paint sealant or VIN window etching to pad profits. IMO most rust would result from damage to the paint. Wash and wax regularly and you'll be fine, your car will run better too.

You can tell when a car is from the north. Especially on the underside and engine.

the previous owner of my car removed the rubber strips that run along the rear wheel well. I think those contribute to rust on many other Honda models and I'm glad they aren't on my car. I've been thinking of spraying some rocker guard on the lips of the rear wheel wells to give them a bit of protection, haven't gotten to it yet though.

My car was rustproofed likely at the time of purchase, I gotta say that the underside is in mint condition after 8 years.
