Default Rusting Aluminized Steel

I'm looking at buying a Spugen Dual Oval exhaust system with round tips. I heard that since the system is made from aluminized steel it rusts in heavy salt areas. I live in Ohio and they salt the roads pretty generously here in the winter. Is the resulting rust just superficial, or will it eventually lead to structural weaknesses?

If you chip the coating, rust can get to the bare metal and definitely start to eat thru. I live in socal and have had rust on aluminized/ceramic-coated exhausts, tho mine's wasn't very severe (no structural issues).
