Default S bogged down at start off...

Hi guys…

Just something I’ve noticed about my S that might be normal but I want to check. I’ve noticed that sometimes when I am at a stop and I engage the clutch my S bogs down even with my foot to the floor. If the RPMs are low (1000 to 2500) the car just slowly starts going until it hits 3K and it takes off. It sounds bogged down, like its struggling. I know the power band on the car is 6K plus but it doesnt seem right. I change the plugs last week and the car still does it. It’s not a constant issue just something I’ve noticed and doesn’t seem normal. The only mod on the car is an aftermarket intake but I can’t see how that’s an issue since I replaced the cone filter with a new one and it’s not sucking in hot air. I’ve ran Techron through the car twice and the only thing I need to check is the PCV valve I’ll do this weekend. Is this normal behavior or something I need to address?

What have been the ambient temps? Sounds like it could be heat bog.

how do i check?? the car is running normal when it comes to temps according to the dash gauge ( 3 bars always ). I agree it sounds heat related but i cant see how yet because the stock intake is off and that leave major room for cool air to come in under the car and the stock inlet. But ill take a pic of the aftermarket intake and maybe you guys will see something im not.

Mine does this when it's 95+ degrees outside. I thought something was wrong with it, but pretty sure it just extreme heat. In the mornings when it's cooler ~80 it doesn't do it.

It's normal. And it sucks.

It must be heat bog. It happens to me all the time in warm weather. The same thing happens to my Integra GS-R sometimes.

I found that it feels like the engine gets cut off of some fuel and the rpms slowly move up to 3k and its fine. This happened on a 500mill drive going up a 6% incline or when its super super hot. I got the aemv2 and it helps out a LOT.

I think its normal.
