BrianB: but you actually had the car aligned with you in it? Not a silly question at all! Alignment changed significantly with me in the car, and it was completely aligned with me in the drivers seat. Any alignment shop that balks at this will probably not take the time to due a precision, race alignment anyway, so go elsewhere. If you don't know where to go, find the local SCCA autoX contact from the SCCA web site and ask him/her.

When I went to the Honda track day here a few months back, the fastest car there was an 'agressively' alligned S2000 with semi-rece tyres. That car was alligned with more front negative camber as well. It was running -2.0 from and -1.0 back. I went in a ride in it (on the track) and the car felt great - very grippy, controlled and predictable.
Come to think of it, there's a few people here that are running more front camber than back ... I think 2kturkey is running more front camber as well.

Keep in mind that I'm no expert in alignment and race prep (I've just been racing my stock aligned, stock suspension s2k with A032R tires), but isnt it wrong to generalize that a certian camber setting will be faster for everyone?
My thoughts are that everyone has their own driving style, some enter into turns more agressively, some take the easy in, power out way of doing things. Some like more oversteer, some like more understeer, it all depends on driving habits. Due to this, I would think that everyone has an optimal camber setting that is more specific to their own driving style. The challenge would be selecting a few optimal alignment settings for various driving styles and then figuring out which category you fit into.
Additionally, I'd be interested if anyone has the specs on a slightly more agressive street alignment that isnt rough on tire wear. (figure 90% of the driving is on the street, 10% track). I'd love to go more agressive, but when rolling on 285 width tires on the street, uneven tire wear can be VERY costly. It's all a compromise, but I know there has to be some room for improvement beyond stock specs without tire wear issues.

I just aligned...tried a little more aggresive setting over factory, not a lot. Drives great and corners tighter. Car is stock ht.

Camber -.75
Toe in 0.0
Caster 5.75
Rear
Camber -1.75
Toe in 0.25
Put on a fresh set of S02's on the front so we will see how tire wears.
BTW...carry the factory specs with you and verify what spec the tech uses. I talked to 5 different garages and 3 did not have the specs for S2K's, but said it was "the same as an accord"
