Default S2000 bottom end details

Hello

I feel a little lost here as i am not an S2000 owner and i will not be one for many years to come, however i am after some info on S2000 parts.

I am piecing together in my head a 2 litre high rpm motor for race and street use using parts from a variety of Honda motors. These engines have been around since forever (i think some of the first may have been the 1970's civics recieving a stroker crank from the 1980's civics ) and i think the idea of shuffling round parts to make new engines is just fantastic! Anyway i am potentially looking to use S2000 pistons and rods in this motor and i have spent this weekend trawling a million Honda forums for information. I have found enough to know that the combination i have in mind has potential, but now i really need some hard numbers.

Can anyone confirm or deny the following measurements?

F20C rods: 153mm
F22C rods: 149.65mm

F20C piston compression height: 29.75mm
F22C piston compression height: 29.75mm
Are these two pistons the same? They have different part numbers...

F20C combustion chamber volume: 53.6cc

And now the things id like to find out but have absolutely no idea on

How big is the dome on the F20C pistons?

Why are there so many Honda part numbers for the 2000-2003 engines? I gather type B pistons are 4 thou bigger than the type A pistons, but Honda lists 3 different part numbers for the A's and 3 different numbers for the B's. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Right, thats far too many questions for a first post Any information anyone can give me would be much appreciated!

Oh, and if anyone knows of a spare set of second hand pistons or rods floating about i could well be interested

Colza...you might try to post this in the forced induction forum...the guys there probably will have those kinds of details since they are more likely to mod their bottom end.

No one should mind since you haven't been able to get response in this forum.

Part of the reason why there are a lot of part numbers for the pistons is since Honda also stocks oversize pistons for service use. IIRC, there are 3 sizes of pistons: standard (factory), plus two oversized (preface: I'm only guessing here since it's been awhile): +0.10mm and +0.20mm.

Mmmm, interesting. I would have thought if they were just oversizes they would specify how much over size they are? Maybe they are internal part numbers and are not usually sold to the public or something
