Default S2000 Break in / car won't start

hi everyone,

the other day i woke to find my s2000 broken into. they cut into the soft top to get into the car. at first it just looked like the soft top was damaged, but it gets better. this morning (first time actually trying to start the car), the car would not start. i don't know if it's a big coincidence or it's another result of this incident.

once i put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position, then press the clutch, then press the 'start' button - i hear a rapid clicking noise, kind of like a starter of a gas stove. however, there is no noise of the engine attempting to turn.

any ideas on where to look? (and also where these things are located)? i'd like to get this up and running so that i can take my car for estimates.

check to see if your battery has a proper charge first. or get somebody to give you a jump. sounds like the battery to me

Your battery is dead. Recharge it or get a jump. If that doesn't work, it might need to be replaced.

Might be a coincidence or they may have left a light on in the car or something.

probably a coincidence unless they left the doors ajar or the inerior light on during the break-in. Cooler temps this time of the year will cause weak batteries to reveal their weakness. Sorry to hear about your break-in , that plain sucks.
