HI,

Could someone help me out please, I have an S2000 engine on a
test bed, and for the tests I'm carrying out I need to know the
connecting rod lenght, the centre to centre distance, i.e. crankpin centre to piston pin centre distance.

The S2000 Manual gives the connecting rod small end
bore diameter as 22.961 mm to 22.965 mm. And the large
end bore diameter as 51.0 mm. These may help in calculating
the connecting rod lenght.

If it's center on center measurement that you need, then that's simply the length of the stroke.

 

No the stroke is independant of the connecting rod lenght, the stroke is a function of the crankshaft.

 

I think my brain wasn't in gear this morning.

 

Try contacting CJB80, he might have this info.

 

How accurate do you need the measurement? I have a set in the garage.

 

As best as I can measure, 11.6 cm from the bottom of the wrist pin to the top of the main con rod beating journal. I can only guarantee accuracy to a tenth.

I embedded the above picture in AutoCad and rescalled it to known dimensions, i.e. the connecting rod small end
bore diameter and the large end bore diameter.

And I calculate the rod lenght at 152.6 mm plus or minus 1 mm.
