Default S2000 guru's

how are you guys doing i own a white s2000 and have done a lil work on it but i have sum questions... under the right front headlight there is a cylinoid... i believe this is for the admissions if i took this off will it hurt my car and how do i turn the check engine light off... i took it off for a week and took it to auto zone and they couldn't clear the code...? any ideas the reason i took this off is to fit my intercooler piping me and my friend are fabricating our own t4 set up and we are goin to run it at 5 lbs (due to the high compression) but many of my freinds say i should not that i am goin to blow sumitn runnin it that hard i have read around on here and it sounds like i can run it up to 7 and still b safe...(people have different assumptions on this matter) will i be ok at 5 lbs? my last question is does any one know where i can get a triple gauge pod for an s2000 everywhere i look they only sell dual...? any help with these questions would be great

you'll be fine at 5lbs on the stock motor. in fact with the stock headgasket and proper tuning/aftermarket ecu, i'd gather the engine could probably go 10lbs or more (i think several have done it). this motor is built tough. forged bottom end, etc. your friends are applying general knowledge to a car they know nothing about.

with a mere 9.0:1 headgasket, people have pushed 26psi on this engine completely stock! (if memory serves right i think one guy runs 18psi daily on this setup too)

as for your CEL. what is the code? if the code keeps coming back, you need to find out what the code is and fix the problem. don't just ignore it. i'm unsure what solenoid or what you're talking about under the right front headlight....??

Are you sure it isn't under the left front headlight? You have to speak in terms of the CAR's left or right, not when you are standing in front of it looking at it.
There is nothing under the car's right headlight. This thing is most likely the secondary air injection pump, part of the EMISSIONS system. A few people have removed it but until you get a different ECU, you'll have a tough time getting rid of the CEL.

do you have emissions where you live? if you do, you can't remove this pump. you'll fail the test.

that's the other down side of it.

since you have that removed your CEL will always be on with that code. which means should anything else go wrong that would normally cause a CEL, you'd never know.

If the CEL doesn't turn off, then you have another cause for the light other than the airpump. You need to have the code before guessing what is wrong with the car.
