s2000 intake...HELP!
They said LATER AP2s. 04 isn't a LATE AP2 is it? It was the first year. I don't know if it's true or not, though.
Not all cars need air injection, BTW. Plenty of cars come without it. It's also not there to heat up the cat. It's there to supply oxygen to the cat under rich conditions.

The air pump was not in the '06+ AP2's. Honda redesigned LOTS of the emission controls when they went DBW.
Not sure why B serious disagrees about the purpose. Honda's initial implimentation of ULEV was to intentionally run rich at cold start, then pump extra air into the exhaust to bring the cat up to normal operating temperature quicker. I don't know how they do it in the '06+. Other manufacturers do it by putting a primary cat very close to the exhaust port, then a secondary cat further down the exhaust stream. My Lexus had 4 cats.

there are many articles that discuss the heating of the cat at startup, so definitely no room for debate there.
just curious how the 06+ does it now...
