Question S2000 issue help!

Hello S2KI forum,

As you guys can see from the title I am in need of a little help with an S2000. My mum has owned this car since 2000 when it got released and she has loved it ever since treating it like her baby. She came to pick me up earlier today to show me what was going on with the car and then told me "get on one of those forum thingies and see what you can find out" so here I am and I will do my best to explain to you guys what is going on with her S2000 before she takes it into the garage.

When pulling off the car is juddering like mad, shaking away like you don't quite have the clutch but it happens every time so it's not a human error (poor clutch control) it also happens when at higher speeds (60MPH) on the dual carriage ways. The brakes still work fine I even had some new ones from here https://www.for-sale.ie/honda-s2000 fitted to make sure so I assume it's not that and because I'm no mechanic that's about as far as my "professional" opinion goes haha. I hoping someone on here has experienced the same kind of problems I am having and will be able to help me out.

As said above I am no mechanic so if there is anything I missed out that would help you guys help me please let me know and I will get back to you ASAP

Thanks

How many miles on it? Does it have any warning lights? Is it the original clutch by chance? Like is the engine cutting out or is the car just struggling to move like maybe something in the transmission or the rear end malfunctioning?

Miles on the clock read 162,395 miles
No warning lights
I will have to ask her about the clutch
The car is struggling to move but don't cut out
And the spark plugs are fine that's the first thing I checked (one of the only things I know) haha

I will be back with the answer to the clutch question ASAP

If I understand you correctly, you're saying the clutch chatters heavily while engaging the clutch. I'm assuming your clutch isn't slipping, it's just the chatter that happens from the time the clutch starts engaging until complete engagement. No problem exists after your foot is off the clutch.

If this is the case, it probably is a little less severe when you engage the clutch at higher engine RPMs. Please confirm if she has had her clutch replaced and if so, were any non-OEM parts used.

There are several potential causes for symptoms like this. Before suggesting possible causes, please confirm my interpretation of the symptoms.

the description is lacking in detail regarding when and how this occurs.

you'd get a faster diagnose by bringing it to the mechanic rather than having the internet try to diagnose based on a poor description.

either way, it is going into the shop. let us know what it is. sounds like some clutch components may need replacing, clutch fork etc.
