alright so ive had my s2000 for about year and a half

its a 2002

i keep hearing a putt putt while on idle / low revs

i changed spark plugs and oil

im thinking its the fuel injectors

i literary just spent 1,300 on the car doing things and how this

i was driving the other day and it just turned off at a stop sign and it has been driving me crazy

any help?!?!?!?!

i read online that its either the fuel injectors or the ecu sometimes its the spark plugs
any one know where i can get these cheap?

any help will be greatly appreciated!!

 

If you have a CEL that would be the best place to start.

Does the car rpm flutcuate alot at idle?

 

wow you said $1,300 that you already spent fixing the problem ??? if i were you just get a new used motor , your gonna spend alot more trying to find the problem..!!! prolly you have a high mileage motor , save your self more money and over haul or swap atleast you have your peace of mind ..!!!

 

I'm sure the 1300 was spent on other things. Thats why he said "NOW this". New motor is poor advice.

Yeah it goes back and fourth when on idle

Yeah I spent 1300 on other things but I have been reading a lot on the problem and from what it seems like it either

1. Needs new CEL

2. New fuel injectors


Anyone know where I can get one super cheap? Anyone gone turbo and have stock ones laying around?

Help will be greatly appreciated

 

I'm also experiencing some misfiring. I've replaced the spark plugs and the CEL went away for a little while but now its back. I've got 79k miles on my s2k so I'm thinking I might need new coils. I plan on buying some pretty soon, I'll let you know if it helps.

Anyone know how often the ignition coils have to be replaced?

 

Did you pull the codes? What are they?

 

Ok great man let me know

codes were 1 3 and 4

But no cheak engine light comes on unless super rough idle happens then it stalls out of nowere

What I do to help is my driving it walk it into idle(1,000 rpm) so it dosnt dip as much as if I was going 30 and putting clutch and nutural and leting it coast

Car as of right now I see idle go up and down ranging (500 to 1k)
No stalling as of now I guess cuz the way I'm driving it
No cheak engine
When in idle I hear a putt putt ( engine misfireing)
Other than that car runs great has 88k always serviced
I am not happy
