true, Im probably going to do them again on tuesday to tighten them a TAD. Its not a big deal anymore since it takes me 10min to get the valve cover off and only a half hr to make adjustments. Thats the biggest value to doing them on your own and often IMO, learning to do them quick, and being able to get the right feel to where you can adjust them to whatever spec you want. Stealerships tend to look only for valves which are WAY off in order to make adjustments rather than adjusting all valves to the correct spec. In your opinion, if I set them to .008 and .010, just how often would I have to start checking them to secure from burning a valve?

Since .008 and .010 is within spec, you could probably check them once every 50K+ miles. I'm adjusting mine below spec, so I plan on checking them every 15K miles.

haha that may be true, but coral, if someone else were to do your valves, would you rather have an overcharging dealership do your valves or me (obsessive compulsive disorder) :-)

You!
I hosted a valve adjustment tech day at my house a couple of months ago and enjoyed helping everyone obsess about their valve clearances, so I'm the pot calling the kettle black when it comes to S2000 obsession.

I knew it!!!! I think when it comes to the s2000, most of us on here have a little bit of O.C.D in us, which is better than being the other way around IMO. Think about it, if we didnt, we would not be doing the valves in the first place, probably wouldnt cause any damage to leave them, but we need the peace of mind knowing they are correct.
