Default s2000 vtec malfunction(CEL p1259)

so i was driving around in the S, and i decided to step on it. the car got to 8200 rpm and cut off alond with throwing up the CEL. i got it checked and said it was P1259.
i got the CEL taken off, checked my oil levels and that was good. drove it again and it threw up the CEL around 7500 rpm again.
its seems like my car is kinda bogged down, and that my vtec might not be engaging right.
any help or advice is appreciated

First thing I would check is vtec solenoid. It is located next to the cylinder head. There is a mesh filter inside that may be clogged. I would take that apart and clean it.

Are you running any fuel management devices?

check the oil pan, changed the vtec solenoid, and the oil level. all good, yet i still have teh problem. i went to secret services and they told me to change the vtec solenoid. and if it wasnt that, the engine might need a rebuild not the news i needed. any more ideas?

Engine rebuild for vtec not engaging... word.

Fun fact of the day, did you know that the secret service was originally created to catch counterfeiters?
