Default S2000 Whistle Noise

Hey guys,

I have a MY00 that has developed a strange whistle in the past two days. It sounds like a model train whistle.

So far ive figured out:

It occurs in any gear, including neutral.
It appears to be underhood.
It hasnt happend while engine is cold.
It increases in sound based on rpm, but will also happen at idle.
and it makes no difference whether or not the AC is on/off.

With that said I have a K&N FIPK and I am used to the standard whistle of the intake. I checked most of the visible vaccum lines and they were all connected.

Any suggestions would be great.

Im going to try and go over the engine better in a few minutes.

Thanks in advance!

A vid might help...not sure what it could be if your intake is fine.

Possibly a bearing going bad on any of the parts driven by belt. You should remove the belt and check for play or tightness on all the pulleys.

Also, after removing the belt, start the engine (don't run it for very long) but if it is something belt driven, it won't make the noise with the belt removed.

Update:

My EPS light came on and my power steering went out, so after driving home I restarted the car and everything was back to normal no EPS light or loss of power steering.

I also havent heard the whistle, and I havent yet been able to check my pullies.
