Default s2k is making a strange sound.

Hi guys, im having this problem with my S. at low speeds its making this high pitched screeching sound. almost like the sound cars make when the brake pads are completely gone but i am not even pressing the brakes. i think the source maybe the car is low on break/ or steering fluid but not sure. it is coming from inside the front wheel well, if anyone has had this problem please guide me in the right direction, thanks a million for any insight on this

Well I can guarantee that you are not low on power steering fluid! Our cars have Electronic Power Steering (EPS)

Check your belts or if something is rubbing

Worst case, add more power steering fluid.

ughh i was hoping it would be a simple fix or something minor like low on ps fluid, btw i have a 2004 AP2, or do ALL s2k's has EPS? the sound is killing me. i installed a berk exhaust this past weekend (sounds fantastic) and this minor dilemma is ruining the sound of the whole driving experience...

does it get worse when you actually press the brakes? also our intakes make a pretty high pitched noise at certain throttle positions .

305ap1; it is generally when the car gets moving. when i come to a complete stop at a traffic light for example the noise stops and when i use the brakes it stays the same it doesn't get any louder. i think it maybe the break pads that are too worn and metal is being contacted on metal but if this was the case then it would only get louder when i brake and i doubt it is the air intake... i run my intake with the lid off and when i had the OEM exhaust installed all i could hear was it sucking in air louder, i know it is definitely coming from inside the wheel well just dont know whats causing it.

ok thanks F8, also does it matter if your steering fluid is on or just a tad bit above the minimum line? mine is at the minimum line..

this problem is driving me crazy, i am going to take out the front tires and run a thorough inspection of everything when i get some time.

Maybe you have a pebble stuck between rotor and pad? I've heard of such on the fit forum.
