Default Saving a Amuse Header...?

Hi i recently got a good deal, i found a S2000 Header at my local car garbage. But one of the running tube is cracked.

The others was fine..But i still take it home because its free and i found that the welding craftmentship is amazing and the weight is relativly light compare to my Mugen.

After bring it back home i try to figure it out what brand is it , and seems it is Amuse R1 Header, Am i right?

And now i want to bring it to a local exhaust shop to cut it and fix it and replaced for my Mugen. Since i am doing a Amuse Project

Do u guys think it is fixable?

That is great that you found such a header. You really need to find a specialty race car shop to fix something like that, your typical exhaust shop might not have small tube and tight mandrel bends that are required to fix it. Guys that are into building specialty race cars could custom fix that though. The end cost might not be too much different than the cost of a used Amuse header though, but still work exploring. At the end of the day the Amuse header won't perform any better than a Mugen even in perfect form, but if your idea is to keep the car Amuse then it might be worth it to you. You also need to consider if the header you have is designed for an f20 or an f22 engine, the designs will differ and one won't perform well on both engines.

Thanks! I was thinking the Amuse should be a little bit better than Mugen? And I was building a F22C engine...

I agree with jfusion, do not take to to your local exhaust shop. Find a shop (even if you have to ship it to them) that builds exhaust manifolds or turbo manifolds, they will be familiar with the work necessary to fix it. Congrats on your find.

The Mugen and Amuse headers are said to be of a very similar design, take a look at how the pipes are run, and they seem to use a similar diameter of piping. Both headers are designed to maximize midrange power. Don't get me wrong the Amuse header is a great piece, I just don't know if it will give you any more performance than a Mugen header.

I agree with the above reply about finding shops that build turbo manifolds, they will have the experience to do tight mandrel bends like you need on that header. Good recommendation ^

Even if the amuse and mugen turn out to be the same, I still think you could have it repaired and turn a few bucks off it by reselling. Junkyard gold right there!
