Default SC turbo. PLEASE HELP: ENGINE NOISE....

I just hope it is not etremely bad... After 90 miles of driving last night I noticed a ticking noise from the engine bay. I had just had a quick (1 minute) hard run but nothing extreme and right after I heard the noise. The noise countinued after I drove back today (120 miles ). Any ideas? I have no loss in power, the turbo runs fine, and the idle rpms are fine too. No overheating. Just this ticking noise even at idle that increases in frequency as the rpms go up. I have a 01 model with 8,500 miles with the SC turbo for the last 1,800 miles (everything else stock)... Never abused the car. What do you guys think? I have been reading about the #4 culinder issue but my car ran fine on the way back... I even pushed it on a couple of straight road sections.....

I would appreciate any ideas/ suggestions!

Did you miss-shift? Over rev the engine? I have a clicking sound from my engine also, but I've had that before I got the Speed Craft kit and it's louder when the engine is cold.

No miss-shifts nor over-revving... I will check the spark plugs tomorrow. It's not the turbo. I am afraid it may be a valve, but then again I should have a light come on, over heating, stalling... which I had none... Any other guesses from anyone?

What about a "hissing" sound near my Airbox (upper right side when looking at the airbox) Its a black cover that makes this hissing sound.. What is that? Stock engine.

Still abroad hecash. The sound actually doesnot sound louder at 3-4k ( I would say actually it diminishes). I will take it to a mechanic tomorrow and see what the prognosis is....
Thx for the input.

Rieger, you can hear the noise loud and clear from outside the car.... It has not broken down. I drove the car for about 200 miles and have it in the garage. Is this normal assuming that the #4 cylinder has a problem?
