Default Scanner says VTEC solenoid and oil pressure switch is OFF

Okay so, I was driving my 2002 s2000 on a normal day and I hit vtec and POP! I looked under the hood and the connector to the oil pressure switch was broken!! It like fell off. So the CEL came on with code p1259 - vtec malfunction. I figured that this seems pretty straight forward... new oil pressure switch and should do it. So I changed the oil pressure switch and NO CEL and no codes. When I rev now it feels noticeably sluggish in lower rpms and I hear vtec "sounding" and feeling like its engaging but doesn't feel like it was before. In any case, seems like I have a loss of power throughout the entire rpm range. My friend hooked up his scanner to my car and it says the vtec solenoid is OFF AND oil pressure switch is Off.... we are stumped because why would it feel like and sound like vtec is still engaging?

Super stumped... Oil is fine btw. Also the previous owner had been in an accident on the passenger side so not sure if there is some wiring issue that could be a lot deeper... My freind tested the vtec solenoid and its working VIA EXTERNAL POWER SOURce, but it seems like the vtec solenoid is not getting power

Is this something I may need to take to honda?

Sounds like the ECU turned off VTEC and it is probably not actually engaging, just revving in that RPM range.

Did you reset the ECU at all? The CEL might be gone but the ECU might not have registered it.

Just a wild guess.

Thanks for your input mate!

Sounds like maybe I should try resetting my ecu?

Any one else got any suggestions?

holy smokes..... resetting the ECU fixed it I think..

Its pulling much harder, no bogging, and vtec sounds like its kicking in again. I will have to see on the scanner tho what it says.

thanks
