Default Several Problems

I have an MY00 that came across some problems recently. I just bought this car in November Used at around 85k miles. One problem is this Humming noise. I don't know if this is suppose to happen at a cold start-up, but my car always does this LOUD humming noise for about a minute. I recently got a CEL and it was said to be my air pump. Is there any DIY for fixing air pumps other than paying $500 for a brand new one? So far with the new site i can't view some threads or even see pictures.
Second problem that just happened a day before my birthday was the Engine Start button. I don't know if its the button that needs to be replaced or what. My car use to start fine with just one press. Now i have to press it several times to start it. When i press the button i hear like a sound of it trying to work (does that make sense?) not the engine just pressing the button. Nothing happens unless i press "engine Start" several times. Has anyone came across this problem? Does anyone think this is a simple fix and that i just need to replace that button?

there is a TSB out for the air pump. this is the TSB number 06-055. I have it on my computer as a adobe file, but i dont know how to post it here. if you google that TSB number you should find what you need.

The Library should have all TSBs.

The start thing could be the starter going bad.

Yeah I checked the library already. Links didn't work for me. I did type the TSB 06-055 and was able to do everything. My hoses had a hole and I just replaced them. Thank you! About the start engine thing. My car is still doing that atm. Whenever I press the engine start button I realize that the ABS LIGHT Turns on then off when I stop pressing it. Does that possibly lead to anything?

Also what I realize is that sound for pressing it makes a light clicking sound. Later today (hopefully I can drive home) I'm going to check the battery and starter. I have a back up starter since the day I bought the car. If all goes wrong I dont know what else could be the problem.

i dont know about everyone else, but that humming noise is normal. unless it sounds like a helicopter in your engine bay, i wouldnt worry about it too much. just the air pump doing its job. now, if its abnormally loud, check the air pump itself and make sure it hasnt burned thru the plastic. regarding your starting problem, try switching out the start button with someone and see if its the button itself. it could possibly be a loose connection or even a bad battery?

next time it wont start the first kick, do this:

put it in gear and push it a foot or two. or reverse and pull it back. see what happens.
