Default shift hard when cold

Hi my name is Dave and this is my first time on this web site, so please take it easy on me!!!! I just bought an s2000 about a month (silver on black) ago. So far I love it!!! But I have a question. My s2000 shifts hard when I first start out. I let it warm up a little but it still shifts hard. After driving for about 15 to 20 minutes, sometimes longer it shifts smooth. Is this normal ? THANKS DAVE

it's cuz the fluid is cold when you first start it. imagine the difference between cold and warm honey.

Try leaving the car parked in reverse. It helped me elminate the clunky cold shifts.

eh? anyway, try double clutching while its cold if you gotta drive..it helps. some will say it wont, but i say it does..i do it, and it works. 1-2 is always gonna be sort of hard unless you nail it perfectly. revving it up a little more than usual (3-4K for me) seems to work...
