Default shifter shakes

Ive had my S for almost 3 years now and never experienced this weird shaking of the shifter before. i believe it came shortly after installing the new clutch. when im driving straight or when the road is smooth, the shifter is okay with its normal vibrations/shakes. but when the road is harsh with lots of continuous bumps, the shifter not only vibrates, but shakes left to right pretty badly. the shifter stays in gear the whole time when this is occuring.

if i can give you a picture of what is actually happening, this is what it would look like.

this is how far the left to right movements are compared to what the norm should be.

there's no metal to metal sound that i can gather. tho my exhaust might be drowning it out, but the way it shakes, im definite that i would hear metal to metal noises if they were present.

it seems to me that the tranny mount is either loose or the propellor shaft has loose bolts. i havent had a chance to look under there, but will do so when the new jack arrives on wednesday.

what im really trying to find out is the negative effects this has on the actual drivetrain.

if anyone has experience and would like to share info on what to look for, it would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like bad mounts to me. my daughter's MY01 had one leaking mount at 98k miles (leaking, not disintegrated) and there seemed to be a slight shake. This sounds like both of your rear mounts are gone. Lots of folks on this forum have posted pics of disintegrated mounts - they're easy to see.

Hmm I have the same issue. Kind of just assumed it was normal lol. Mine wobbles to the sides like crazy over a big bump. Probably the same as yours does. Maybe I should look into fixing it if it's not supposed to lol.

i can understand the shaking during wot or even just a hard run...but what im experiencing is definitely not normal.

the load is probably around 40-60% when the bad shake occurs. im too scared to push it even more when the shakes start to happen..
