So I just installed a 00 trans in my 01 and I am having some issues. It shifts in every gear perfect but it has to be in just the right spot to get it to go in 5th. If I move the shifter all the way to the right and push up it wont go into 5th but if i move it a 8th inch over it goes in no problem. I installed the shifter from my 01 trans because the boot on the the 00 shifter was torn. Does anyone know if theyre different shifters or is there and easy fix? Thanks

 

same shifter on both cars. does your shifter feel a little loose. if so there is a bushing that goes around shifter ball where it moves in trans. check to see if you left in your old trans. it is called a cover pivot.

Thanks bugs the shifter feels fine and I did check the old trans to see if it fell off but it doesnt seem to have im gonna go pull the shifter now.
