Default Shimmy after Spring Install

I've just replaced my stock springs with some Espelir springs, I'm using stock rims and tires, the rear tires where just replaced. I'm noticing a shimmy from the rear at around 70-75 MPH almost like a bad balance.
My question is, are there any camber adjustments that I need to make after removing stock springs? I'm going to have the tires looked at to make sure they are properly balanced as well.

Thanks for any info
Scott

If you changed your springs (lowered your car) you will need an alignment. You've basically changed the geometry of the suspension. The alignment setttings were for the oem springs. In addition, think about all the nuts & bolts you had to remove and re-fasten. All those nuts & bolts are not back in the EXACT same place, moving the geometry a little here and there.

I would get an alignment. What kind of tires did you get for the rear? Maybe you should get the rears re-balanced.

Another possibility is that the wheels were installed improperly. Meaning the install was not done based on a "star" pattern direction of tightening (I hope I'm making sense).

Good luck

The tires were normal stock Bridgestones S-02's. I tightened in a star pattern. I'll see what happens after the rebalance and then take your advice and get an alignment.

Thanks

Just so that I make myself clear, a misaligned car won't cause the shakes. I would do an alignment to save your tires and maximize handling performance. An alignment will make sure you get complete tire contact on the road.

There is actually an alignment shop out in the L.A. area that does an awesome job. They will ask you how you drive (aggressive or cruise), whether you track the car, types of roads driven. They even had me sit in the car as they did the alignment. Says that I'm a consistent factor of the car's overall weight and it affects the geometry of the cars alignment!

I hope you can find a shop this proficient in their work in your area.
