Default should i do a tranny fluid change?

When i bought my car 7 months ago i had a tranny fluid change done because of some clunkiness into 3rd, now i have read all the DIY's and it seems very easy, i have only driven it about 3000 miles after that (still clunky), but i have no idea what tranny fluid they used. stupid question but is there a minimum amount of time you should wait before another change?

Did a honda dealer change it? The new honda MTF blend is good stuff. There is no minimum amount of time to change the fluid.

A lot of people swear by GM Synchromesh, but it can be a pain to locate sometimes.

If you don't know what fluid the shop put in it, that's even more of an incentive to change it out now. Just go pick up a couple of bottles of Honda MTF and change it yourself. It's quite easy.

And just to note, a little clunkiness from 2nd-3rd is fine. I've driven a dozen s2k's ranging from all model years and all exhibit this behavior to some degree...especially when the tranny is cold. As long as it doesn't grind, you're good.

I changed mine with Royal Purple MTF and it seems to be holding up fine; 3k miles now. I plan on changing mine out every other oil change; 6k total miles.
