signs of running lean?

anybody else have any ideas? a little desperate here, wanna make sure before I blow in a hole in my pistons.

Put a wideband meter on it and check it under full load from 5000 to 8500 rpm. If you measured a less than full throttle the mixtures will be leaner than full throttle.

and what am I looking for on the farking plugs? I just installed new ones last week and threw out the old ones. and is installing a wideband is the only way to tell if I'm running lean?

you could have the dyno shop to pull the primary 02 and measure the a/f at that point to get a true a/f. the primary does not control the a/f for WOT (open loop) conditions so the performance won't change. it only control the a/f in close loop conditions.

some shops will add a 02 bung in the header for a/f readings, but that's hard core...
