Single Exhaust Conversion
So I finally broke down and purchased the T1R 70 Power Exhaust.
Now usually when I get something like that in I have it on the car the next day but with work and other crap that has to be done around the house during the summertime up here in the great State of Alaska, work on the S2 has been slow to say the least. So I finally got started late afternoon on Sunday figuring that it would only take me a couple of hours to get the stock system off and the new T1R on. Well I was wrong. For some dumb reason I started taking off the stock system from the cat back. Well that was fine until one of the three bolts (the one closest to the heat shield of course) stopped turning dead in it tracks. Once I figured out I could just take the two spring loaded bolts off the cat to header connection I was back in business. The main reason i didn't do that is because I only pulled the rear end up on to wheel ramps so my clearance wasn't as good as it could have been. Anyways, I have everthing dangling from the seven (7) exhaust hangers and that is where the fun begins. I looked like a monkey f**king a football under there because I didn't have anyone to help me hold this thing up one direction or the other when needed. Needless to say I finally got the stock system off. The good news is that the T1R fits on the S2 pretty close to perfect and didn't take no where near the time it took to get the stock one off. Just make sure you use a rubber mallet to tap the two exhaust pieces together before you hang it. So after all that work, I must say the exhaust sounds great and I can't wait to take it down the drag strip. I am hoping it will help me break into the 13's finally. The fastest I have ran (with new wheels/tires and AEMV2 CIA) 14.06 @ 98MPH. Thanks for reading....AlaskaS2000
