Default skaking when starting

I have been having some issues with my s2k lately.

when i come from a stop, i notice that the car shakes. (the feeling you get when you start moving a clutch with a bit too much gas) the jerky feeling

however, i noticed that when i shift from first to second it does the same thing

and when i drive in reverse (not that i do that for extended periods of time lol)
the shaking is really bad. Almost feels like the rear end is going to fall off the car.
I haven't driven it since it did this last night.

my gut feeling is that it is my diff.
can anyone confirm this?? or point me in some direction?

how many miles are on it? is it lowered?

while high mileage lowered vehicles the CV internals make a wear spot on the inside. Under acceleration when the chassis moves up and down on the suspension the CV guides move from the lower wear spot to the high not wear spot causing a vibrating sensation. the fix for this is spacers.

read that post and you can see what im talking about.

that's not what im talking about.
it almost feels as though the clutch is grabbing too much and causing a shaking when the clutch disengages.

is the car still trying to roll or lurch forward even when the clutch pedal is pressed to the floor? If so you might need to change your clutch fluid and bleed it.

i re-read your original post and you need to be a little more discriptive. Does the shaking appear to be coming from the rear of the car? The engine bay? The wheels? There can be a number of things.

Another thing comes to mind is possibly a bad motor mount or two. My civic hatch had this issue with broken factory mounts. From a partial throttle acceleration when i pushed the clutch in the motor would "flop" back to is resting position and shake the whole car. Almost felt like my dash was going to fly off at me.

Anyway you need to try to a little more diagnosing and be a little more descriptive.

I'd check the engine mounts.

okay..

I am feeling two separate things now.

First: when i start, the clutch feels like it wants to launch.. like no matter how i disengage the clutch, it feels like it wants to break the tires loose.

this shaking is the feeling that you get when you are about to stall the car because lack of gas when disengaging the clutch.. i believe the clutch is grabbing too much. I am going to adjust the pedal tonight and see what happens.

this was also happening when i was downshifting to a stop.

Second: When i am coming to a stop, it feels like the driveshaft is shaking? there is noise in the rear. not much, but i can feel a vibration and hear it.

at first when i read your post, i thought you had the same problem as i did. My problem is when i come to a stop my car does a little shake and then stop. I think its because the rpms drop below 0 for a little and come back up. I seen somewhere before how to fix that and someone recorded a video of their rpms staying solid at 1. can someone help me find this vid?

its hard to help without really seing the prob ya know....but check all the obvious things such as bushings/motor mounts. Also make sure that your throwout bearing, splines and bearing guide are well greased, if not properly greased this can cause a jerky/jumpy feeling in the actual clutch pedal and engagement points.

i know wat your talkin about, not sure where the video is but i remember the gist of the thread being to not coast to lights and stuff in neutral. It confuses the ECU idle procedure. Just leave it in gear while coming to a stop.
