Default Slave Cylinder

My service manual says apply grease to the boot and slave cylinder rod...but it does not say how much? I took it apart and greased it, but the "catchy" feeling has returned again. I don't want to put too much, but guessing I did not put enough. Anyone know how much?

I would like to know too! Have the same problem. I just used my finger to scoop up some and smeared on it, it was fine for a day or 2 now it's back. Do I have to super saturate it?

A finger full should be good, what kind of grease are you guys using?
Maybe that is the reason? I use a nice amount of silicone paste, since I didnt have the Urea stuff.
Mine has been fine so far, only been 2 months though.

If I find that it starts acting up again I am just going to break down and buy the Urea grease from the dealer.

The same thing is happening to me. I've done it twice now, and it has returned for the second time in a row in less than 2 weeks. I'm using "Honda Super Hi-Temp Urea Grease" too.

I grind down the ball, then fill the fork cup and slave cylinder piston cup with grease and install if anyone wants to know.

I didnt grind it, but used some fine grit sandpaper to make it smooth. Its not that big of a job, but would like it to last.

-grind off nipple
-put slave rod in a drill, spin polish with sandpaper till it shines like chrome
-using INDUSTRIAL application adhesive grease (not wheel bearing grease), liberally lube ball end
-Disengage fork momentarily, and grease FORK TIPS. you will need to reach in with a coat hanger with grease on it to do this.
-re-assemble and enjoy for years.

On the inside of the slave rod boot just put a small thin coating, they say to lube the slave rod shaft but I see no point in that as it doesn't touch anything , though I did put a small bit on there. Then of course the ball end and I put some in the corresponding hole on the fork, the excess will just ooze out , no biggie. I used Honda Hi-temp grease which I had hanging around from use in other applications.
