Default Slight rear vibration around 75 mph....

I just noticed this over the weekend. At speeds around 75 mph, I can feel a minor vibration that comes and goes every couple seconds. Very strange. I've had out of balance wheels before, but it was a constant vibration.

I did have new tires put on a few days ago, and I forgot to check the pressures after the install. I did today, and they were a tad over 40 psi, but I'm not sure if that would cause the vibration.

Would having no hubcentric rings be the cause? The vibration only happens at that speed and is smooth on acceleration until 75 mph. So I think that would X out the axles.

Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you lowered the car recently? How many miles on the car?

The car is lowered on Tein S-techs, which were put on about 12k miles ago. Car has 33k now.

What about in VTEC. My Axle vibration can be felt only under HARD HARD acceleration Otherwise everything seems fine.

not having hubcentric rings would put stress on the studs, but i doubt you would feel vibration because of that unless you didn't properly torque the lugs.

Yeah, I've been leaning towards hubcentric rings. I just don't think it would be the axles, cause there are no vibrations under hard acceleration.

I have the same thing with my S2K.
In my case it's the rear tires causing this. They have a slight difference in hight somewhere and this causes a slight vibration.

They're new tires as well. Saler told me it's a fabrication fault and i''m getting new ones this weekend.

Hope this helpes you out.

Have you had it aligned lately? Could be that as I had the same shake before I got my alignment and tires. I also put spacers on.

Not having hubcentric rings doesn't put extra stress on the studs.
At all.

Not having HR's makes it a bit more difficult to centre the wheel properly.
One has to be more precize with tightning the lug nuts in a 5 star pattern and use smaller steps.

The nuts - with their convex shape - press the wheel - with concave "holes" - against the hub and center it at the same time.
