I always run Premium but ill try switching gas stations as well. As for the filter, do you guys leave your air box cover on or take it off? The car is much louder with it off but louder doesnt mean more power. The cover looks pretty functional to me.

And another thing... Ive got 3 grand saved up towards a comptech charger... should i keep saving or get some solid bolt ons. If so, what do you guys recommend. I know i cant get much with just 3K but throw me some ideas that with give me some more power.

I also want to lower my final drive. The car is geared for 167 but ill never reach that, i would rather have it geared for 145-150 and accel much quicker. Throw some ideas at me .......

my car just started doing the exact same thing as well, starting yesterday. today i gunned it in first from a roll, at about 5000 or 5500 rpms, the engine started to bog a bit, then at 6200 or 6500 rpms the car shot forward again. does that make any sense?

at first i thought it was the clutch going out, but if that was the case then the engine wouldn't be affected at all, right? definitely feels like it's suffocating a little...my guess it's the air filter. gonna install the AEM V2 i just bought.

If the clutch was bad, you'd get a flare, an increase in RPM's without an increase in speed.

With modern gas you should be running a premium fuel injection cleaner through your engine every 7500 miles. Cleans the injectors, cleans the carbon off the pistons and valves. It take alot of miles to plug the air cleaner.

Perhaps you are adjusting to your car. I sometimes experience the same. Always best to drive something else (benchmark) to double check.

I would also have to guess at your just getting used to the car.

However, were are you located at? I know driving around East Tennessee around 3 in the afternoon my S just feels downright slow due to the humidity. If i take it out the next day after a nice rain storm or in the morning when there isnt as much moisture in the air the car runs like it should.

Just a thought.

I second TheLoons12's thoughts.

I've noticed that humidity and temperature can make a difference.

Also, sometimes the road you're driving on may be "dirty", say, with some sort of fluid, maybe a bit of mud/tiny rocks/whatever, I've noticed that these also make a difference in performance until you get your rear wheels clean again (in a mile or two)-- so it may also be because of a temporary loss in traction.
