I had a friend look over my car to check my pcv valve. He took out another hose that was connected to the air control valve and said it smelled of gas.

Im way past due to change my pcv valve, so coming here to see is that normal for the air control valve to smell of gas?

My friend told me that once I change the pcv the smell will go away. He not too fimilar with are cars so just checking with you guru's here.

I will be changing my pcv valve next week to see if that does anything. Car is a 05 Ap2 with 40k.
