Smelly breaks

I have recently got my rear brakes changed and I have noticed they smell a good bit sometimes. What is that?

Depending on the pads you chose, they tend to smell sometimes during the first few hundred miles. I would recommend taking the car out and "seating" the pads with some hard braking.
