Smoke from dipstick tube?

Default Smoke from dipstick tube?

longtime lurker here, finaly have a question for you s2k'ers. when I pulled the dipstick to check oil a little bit of smoke came up the dipstick tube. It only happend one time and didnt happen again. What could be wrong? Car is MY2003 with 62,xxx.

Nothing is wrong. You just happened to pull the stick when the engine temps were high enough to keep the hot oil in vapour form. Next time, remove the oil fill cap (engine off) when you see smoke come out of the dipstick hole and really see smoke come out. When you heat oil up to near 250 degrees, some of it becomes smoke.
