Default So Depressing! Is it all true?

Just recently bought my s2k, and became addicted like I knew I would. A junky s2k friend told me about the site. I started reading, and learned a lot while becoming concerned about several topics. I already experience the 1-2 shift grind. Can I look forward to the #4 cyllinder cooling problem? Are my spark plugs going to loosen only to have Honda say that there is no problem? I love the car, but the reason I buy Honda's is for their dependabilty and reliability. Please give me hope. It's not the car I thought I was buying.

Just be nice to it and break it in right.... And dont do clutch dumps... It's not a muscle car.

It's time to revive the "My car started today" thread. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...?threadid=19490

Most of us do not experience problems with our cars. For a performance car there are very few major problems that result in the car not being driveable. There are more minor problems because, like any mechanical device, the S2000 is not perfect. It's a hoot to drive though .

There is a TSB for the spark plug issue...TSB 02-042, just get that done and problem over.

And you really should read the \"My car started today\" thread like CoralDoc suggests.

Have fun with your "S" it is a great car if you give it some respect.
Some of these topics are from people that don'nt even own a "S".

I have a 94 Accord.... 175K on it and never had a bit of trouble. The clutch is fading a bit now though. ;-)
Also a Passport (02)... love it. Hoping my new S2K lives up to the standard those cars have set! My "Honda experience" has been nothing but positive.

Kudos!
My car never fails to start. It's a 2000 model year with 6000 mi. on it. The car was babied by the original owner, never even driven in the rain. Got the message. Stop crying and enjoy! Have had lots of Honda's, w/150,000 mi.+. But my Accords and Preludes don't come close to my s2k!
