Thumbs up So far my N/A Build... HELP

Hey guys, I will be posting here my updates;

So far what I have;
- AEM V1 Intake
- Mugen Header
- Custom 2.5 test pipe
- Custom 2.5 single exhaust (has magnaflow straight through muffler)
- Apexi Vafc (not tuned, waiting to put everything on)
- Hondata head gasket (hp gains?)

What I am planning to do; (<- this is where I need help with hp figures)
- Larger throttle body (best size for n/a applications?) (hp gain?)
- Port and polish intake manifold (any hp gains with this?)
- Port and polish head (hp gains with all of the above?)
- Cams? (which ones? hp gains?)
- Spoon head gasket to raise compression (what else do I need to be able to raise the compression? I know theres about 5-7hp there (looking at JDM cars))

And of course the intake/throttle body and head machining will be done to match perfectly so the flow is good.

Anyway this is my daily driver so for practical reasons I cant go with itb's; and money!

What else would be good to produce good n/a power? Ive read almost all topics here and I think that this is the best thing to do (money to power ratio-wise) to get good hp numbers. Do I really need to get springs and retainers since I wount be doing substantial time in the high rpms?

Think I can hit 250hp?

Thanks!!

With all the mods you listed that you currently have..would most likely net you around 200-210hp somwhere in the middle of that.A Good tune would make all the difference. Maybe go with the AEM EMS, the VAFC would only net you a little, to get max hp a stand alone would be better

Also are you trying to make 250hp or bhp?

with those mods and some good tuning you should expect damn close to 220whp. i would really recomend a 70mm exhaust as it has shown again and again to make the best overall whp.

i would recomend also getting emanage ultimate and finding a good tuner. a vafc is great but you can just do so much more with emanage than you can with a vafc.

i really think that your going to have to re-think your expectations. 230rwhp is hard to hit, let alone 250. you wont hit it without ITBS or a stroker kit.

Good luck and I assume you mean you are trying for 250WHP. You are probably already at 250 HP.

Yes I mean whp.

Who here has the most powerful 2.0l engine? Since I dont plan on stroking it I want to know what he/she has done to the engine...

Decent header, test pipe, 70mm exhaust, then

you'll need a stroker kit, ITBs, and a good EMS tune.

that should put you over 250whp

hate to toot my own horn, but i think that i am one of the most powerful 2.0's on the boards.

ive been searching for 230whp for the last year and am 3whp off right now, looking for the right header/i've finally decided on the intake i want and that should put my solidly in the 230's but no where close to 240 or even 250whp. you'll need a stroker to hit 250.

OK so about raising the compression!

They say that 12.1-12.5 is ok to run on 93 octane fuel...

NOW, the spoon head gasket will raise it to 11.5.1 if I well remember
BUT
What if I add pistons that raise it to the same compression (11.5.1 with the stock headgasket) AND then add the spoon headgasket... at what compression will I be at?

Like I said, trying to get hp any way I can and i think that raising the compression along with everything else should be the most power producing thing.

no need for stroke, I know of a couple cars in Socal with ITB's and beta cams that are over the 260whp with f22's...... to bad these guys are not on the boards....

Stock displacement and stock compression.
