i my 01 has 64k miles on it and i've had it for 4 month and just notice that my dip stick has been popping off, not completely because it hits the hood. i notice this after i take the car to red line. i did a compression test when i first got the car and it was 235 across the board.

 

it's normal, it just pressure in the block pushing the rod up.

the o ring is probably worn or undersized from honda.

just flip it around like billman said, mine ever pop up(105k) but i leave it in flipped position all the time

(Some other high compression engines use double O-rings on their dipsticks)

 

If I give mine a good tap, it'll stay in place.
