Is it normal for one of the soft top latches to have a very loud metallic rattle when you push your car beyond 7000 RPM and up to the redline?

Does something need to be tightened or replaced?

Search, I know my soft top doesnt make a sound and it clamps down super tight. Your clamps may need a bit of grsses to work back into the joints or you can do like some people and fold a small piece of paper onto the hook b4 you latch it, this will cause enough tension and stop the rattle.

you must climb from 7k to redline really slow to be able to notice the rattle.. lol j.k.. maybe its just that loud

 

How much time do you spend at 7K+?

 

i dont spend much time there at all. But recently going all out i notice a very loud metallic rattle. I stayed at 7000 RPM + only one or two times to pinpoint the noise, and the only thing making that noise is the passenger side latch. Im gonna try those quick fixes later on tonight and see if they work.
