Default Soft top switch not working

The switch for my soft top is not working to raise the top back up, and I was curious as to what things I should check first.

For some background on the car and this issue:
- hardtop was installed early 2010
- soft top has not been used in at least 2 years
- car was in storage from Jan 12 - Nov 12; daily driven since

Is it regular or likely that I disconnected the soft top switch when the hard top was installed? I figure that's possible, but it was done years ago and I honestly don't remember. Previous to hardtop installation, the top worked flawlessly. Since hardtop installation, I doubt the soft top would have been used more than 1-2x; I live alone without a garage, so the hardtop is not a breeze for me to remove or store. Lately the weather has me wishing to drive topless, but I do not like to park the car topless; hence why I was trying to get the soft top functioning again.

Thanks in advance, I've been gone a very long time and feel like a total newbie again.

First things first I would pull off the center console cover and check to see that the switch is properly plugged in.

Confirm that your ebrake dash light is on when the ebrake is engaged.

You haven't had any speaker/headunit/sound work done since the last time you used it have you?

Also, with pulling up the center console and checking connections.

Also, just to cover all the bases since it's been a while since you've used it; you are pulling up the e-brake right?

Yeah I would first pop off the center console like mentioned above. Underneath there are three connectors, each coinciding with the three buttons on the center console. Check there first, then post back.

You said the hardtop was on for a long time right? OEM? Do you have the hardtop defroster cable too so the defrost works on the hardtop? If this is the case the on the drivers side rear catcher there is a button that the hardtop pushes down so the soft top is disabled. Make sure this button has popped back up.

Thanks for all the input, guys. I do not have the defrost cable for the hardtop connected since Wintering weather is rare around here. Seems like I was to blame after all, I must have simply forgot that the e-brake needs to be pulled for the top to work. Used it this weekend just fine after remembering that
