yea i know i forgot an S after "pull"

For some reason, the passenger/front latch is really tight on my hardtop. When I tighten it down, it lifts up the back and makes a big gap in the rear seal and I can't close the passenger door because the hardtop has slanted down and won't clear the window.

If I don't leave it latched then fitment is good. meaning, I need to loosen up the passenger front latch. Can I add a washer under the actual latch on the hardtop and not the striker to bring the two CLOSER to each other and not further apart?
