Default Softop Replacement Quote?

I've been asking several upholstry and interior places aroudn town for a quote for installation for a new softop of MY01 and one has responded and stated around 1100bucks for the labor of ~12hours.

Does this sound reasonable?

It's reasonable, but if they have done it before I would expect more like 8 hrs or even less.

Are they charging actual hours or are they quoting a fixed price?

I just got my AP2 soft top replaced.

Breakdown of pricing:
$1200 for parts
$460 for labor

Grand total - ~$1660. Insurance covered it, but I still had to pay my $500 deductible.

I just had my 2006 softtop replaced in augest. the dealership covered it though. when i went to put my top down, i forgot to reclick the right latch into place, so when it went down it tore a hole in the shape of the latch (L shape). i told the dealership the top malfunctioned, they denied my claim so i asked for the district manager to look at it. he OK'd a good faith repair and they covered the whole thing. lucky i guess, but i would take it to the dealership if your still under warranty, and even if you are not, take it anyway and see if they will cover it, worst case they deny it and kick you out

12 hours seem a little much it should be between 8-10 most likely 10@$85/hr for labor so $850 for labor

Jesus! No wonder dealers are so leary of warranty claims.
