Spark Plug Torque Check... Should I?
Should I pull my coils and inspect the spark plug torque at some point after getting the car?
Or has that problem been completely acknowledged by Honda (would become a product improvement through a corrective action)

Honda does not recommend anything so you can take one of two actions based upon internet advice... you can invest 15 minutes to see if they are all torqued to 15 - 18 lbs.; or you can do nothing and take a chance and see if you are one of the few to have a problem. We cannot tell you how to play the odds.
That would be a definitive "yes" ... I was the guy who had the first failure which involved the spark plug coming out of #1. What I have never been clear on was what the plug had to do with the failure. There were a lot of things that failed in my first engine and the spark plug being out was just part of that mosaic.
My car had 35,300 miles on it when the failure took place...
I would say that checking them every 10,000 miles would be a good policy...more if you are the paranoid type...

Checked the plugs when car was about 6 months old. Torque was at 6#ft on all plugs. Torqued to 13#ft. A few months later, checked again, torque varied from about 8# to 10#. This time, I decided to go up to 18 - 20 #'s. Checked again a couple months later, hadn't budged.
I had a similar experience to xviper. Plugs checked in at 5-6 lb/ft when the car had about 500 miles on it. Re-torqued them to 15 lb/ft and checked again at 1K. They were down to 10-12, so I upped the torque to 18 and they have been OK at this setting. 18 lb/ft is on the high side of what I like to torque washered plugs on an Al head, but I've gone 20 before on other engines without problem.

I have the right stuff to do it myself.
I will be keeping my visits to the dealership to a minimum. If I can do it myself, I will. If I don't have the right tools, I'll go out and get it.
My car needs and annual state inspection. Otherwise, I do my own work. But I don't like to take things apart more often than necessary.
